It was tested by the Bangkok National Museum and had a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale of gemstones. It was believed to have come from the 1951 excavation of a Buddhist site in Northwest Thailand near the border with Burma. Condition report: Shows signs of incrustations and consistent overall wear for its age.
