Convict love token, c1820, a shaved down Georgian halfpenny, obverse inscribed, 'MARY/BOYD' and below is the top of a small tree, reverse inscribed with a tree design. Good very fine.Ex David Allen Collection from I.S.Wright. There were two convict women named Mary Boyd. The first was convicted at Bristol Quarter Sessions on 9 April 1819 to transportation for seven years. She was one of 120 prisoners transported to NSW on the ship 'Morley' arriving at Sydney on 17 May 1820. The other was convicted at Central Criminal Court on 23 November 1846 to transportation for seven years. She was one of 170 convicts transported to Van Diemen's Land on the ship 'Asia' arriving on 9 March 1847.
