While this may appear like a fairly commonly encountered example of this type in specimen form, this offering should not be underestimated. The 1965 date (there are several different ones in October and November of that year) was never issued for circulation, and specimens such as this are the only way to acquire this date, as the entire print run (except for perhaps a single rumored example) was destroyed by the printer, Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. following the declaration of independence of Rhodesia on November 11, 1965. With rare dates of Rhodesia much in demand these days, we expect spirited bidding on this rare offering from advanced collectors hoping to acquire an example of one of the unissued 1965 dates in specimen form.
